11 Days and Counting Until Departure to China!

14 members of LYS and their adult chaperones are headed to China on May 31.   Students from Boulder Youth Symphony, Denver Youth Symphony Orchestra and Longmont Youth Symphony have combined for the tour.  87 people including 54 students, 1 conductor and 32 chaperones will travel for 18 days.  We plan on recruiting LYS students and Mr. Chen to write the blog on the trip.  The students will use first names and last initials for their entries.

The itinerary is Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Guillin, Xian, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai.  We return on June 18!  We will have performances in Guangzhou and 2 in Beijing.  Highlights will include the Terra Cotta Soldiers, Victoria Peak, The Forbidden City, the Beijing Olympic Park and the Great Wall.

I hope you can make the May 23 or May 30 warm up concerts!  They will be at Boulder Valley Christian Church at 6:30.  The address is 7100 South Boulder Road.  Admission is $5 to defray rehearsal space costs.  The kids have been working hard.  See you then – Janice
