Join the Longmont Youth Symphony as we hold our inaugural concert of the 2015-2016 season on Sunday, October 18th, at 2:00pm. The concert at Longmont High School (1040 Sunset St., Longmont, CO) will feature performances by each of LYS’ three performing ensembles — the Strings Ensemble (LYSE), the Wind Ensemble (LYWE), and the Symphony Orchestra (LYSO).
Musicians from the Symphony Orchestra have prepared thrilling selections by Mozart and Beethoven, and the Wind Ensemble will capture your imagination with evocative pieces from the concert band repertoire. In their first appearance under the baton of our new music director, Alison Mayes, our Strings Ensemble will perform a selection from the repertoire of the Beatles, as well as a mischievous arrangement of a movement from Gustav Mahler.
